SteveShortt.com Website

Steve Shortt is an up and coming Entrepreneur and Motivational Speaker, who wished to launch a new brand. The site is based on WordPress and includes a number of custom plugins and modules, and a large amount of custom CSS and HTML used to expand the original template used for a unique and bespoke look. The site was designed to be easy to use with a fresh modern look reflecting the Steve Shortt brand. Some raw copy was provided by the client and edited/re-worked, while other parts of the site required entirely new copy to be written. A French version of the site was also needed, which exists alongside the English version – both versions dynamically hidden from the other depending on the current selection by the user. The site is updated regularly to include the latest videos created by the team at Third Mind Design, as well as posts for social media which link back to the website. Visit the site here.

MyProstate.ie Website

My Prostate is an independent website set up by a GP looking to promote prostate health in older generations of men in Ireland. The subject can be quite an awkward one for many men, so the site was created to make a wealth of information available and easily accessible by anyone. The site is built on the WordPress CMS so the owner can update content as like anything in the medical world it can change quite rapidly. The site has been designed to be as friendly and approachable as possible to ensure its users are at ease, while still being very informative about the subject. The site includes information about everything to do with prostate health, from natural changes due to age, to more serious issues like advanced prostate cancer, so it is extremely comprehensive. The client provided a huge amount of information that was needed on the site, so it was important to divide this up into easy-to-use sections for users without them becoming disinterested in the subject matter. This was important from the actual experience using the site, and the content of the copy. Copy was produced from text documents originally received from the client, which were rewritten in layman’s terms. Visit […]

Make Up by Aimee Website & Store

Aimee Connolly, of Éxpose on TV3, required a new website and online store. Aimee was launching her new line of make-up products – “Make-up by Aimee” – and wanted a fresh new look online to go with the new range. The site was built on the Squarespace CMS, and a custom homepage was coded and added to the selected template to give a continuous parallax effect (this was done very simply using CSS and HTML rather than bulky javascript or jquery plugins). The template was modified in a number of other ways to give it a unique look, while still maintaining the easy to use CMS Squarespace is known for. Logo design was done by Third Mind Design. Aimee’s shop was included which sells her make-up products, and also allows her regular Masterclass courses to be booked. A blog was also set up, which Aimee was shown how to use. Overall she was extremely happy with the site, and is particularly fondof the built e-commerce due to it’s ease of use. Visit the site here.

Irish Sponsorship Summit Website

This was a redesign of a previous site built for the Irish Sponsorship Summit, including a new branding package. The site was built on Squarespace as the client wanted an easy-to-use platform which they could update themselves. The original template was modified to allow a video hero image on the homepage, and the design of the site modernised compared to that of the old one, which resulted in a completely new and slick new look. The original site had it’s own integrated payment system built with PHP, which unfortunately, as a server side language, was not available to use with Squarespace. This issue was solved using a subdomain to build the ticketing and payment software, which was then integrated seamlessly into the new site using an iFrame. Visit the site here.
